I learned to surf in 14 days in El Salvador

And so...here is the result of that. The ups, the down, the frustrations, the injuries, the failures, the successes. A truly fruitful journey.

Was I able to accomplish the task at hand? Keep watching to find out!

Thank you to EVERYONE involved in helping me achieve this life long dream, particularly:

I hope you enjoyed this video!

This video is particularly important to me because obviously this is a dream, secondly it’s showcasing one of my favourite countries in the world, I realised this is EXACTLY the kind of content I want to create and also incorporating having a team. I've wanted to get videographers and editors for 2 years now to assist in the workload, and this video is the result of that. Beginning of an amazing new team!

Let me know what you'd like me to try next!

I can’t stop thinking about the scene from the Matrix where Neo gets unplugged from the system.

He wakes up and realises that his body had been feeding machines.

For some reason, it keeps me looking at my own patterns of directing some of the strongest energy I possess willingly to an external source.

No, it’s not my physical energy, because sure, I can run a little but that energy is limited.

I have unlimited energy in the form on consciousness. If I’m alive, it’s there.

Consciousness:

“Despite centuries of analyses, definitions, explanations and debates by philosophers and scientists, consciousness remains puzzling and controversial, being "at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives"

We have two levels of consciousness - the subconscious which keeps us operating 95% of the time without our involvement and the conscious mind where creativity and critical thinking occurs, but it requires hyper presence to be activated which many find very difficult and choose not to pursue to work for it.

The more access I have received to the online world, the more I’ve seen myself plug into that virtual reality.

At one point my mind was constantly occupied with the online version of myself. Every thought I had was about how to get my message out there, what the caption would be, what instastories I would post, what videos I would create, how to get more eyes on me. I even dreamt about this virtual world.

My mood was 100% dictated by my online world. If it was performing well, I would be happy, if it wasn’t, I would be a horrible person to be around.

I don’t ever remember a stage of my life where I was more asleep then during this time.

I’m very grateful I somehow snapped out of it. I’m still trying to pin point what the exact moment was that released me, but it’s been a 2 year recovery from that daze.

And then I realise that I was one of the lucky ones. Not only because I snapped out of my virtual persona, but I also did grow up in a world without internet and social media (Facebook started growing in popularity when I was 18), versus now, a world where phone usage of 8 hours daily is acceptable.

How many teens and children now are plugged in from an incredibly early age, that might not be able to differentiate which world is actually real?

Television (yes including Netflix) are programming your subconscious mind. Music with damaging lyrics together with certain frequencies (used in the top hits) program and dictate your subconscious mind. Your brain can read much faster than your eyes so just scanning your phone whilst scrolling is absorbing excess information.

Your mind is not free.

You probably feel it yourself at times. You get through your day and in tiny moments of full presence it feels like you’ve snapped out of weird hallucination, wondering there the time has gone or what you even did. And then you drop back in without warning.

Recently, I did one technology free day and 2 days phone free and I noticed a much more prominent level of awareness and clarity during this time.

And that was just two days. I wonder how much more free I could become with less time behind a screen.

We are all freely providing our mental and conscious energy to mind numbing sites.

If you feel tired often, unable to focus, unable to get simple tasks done, it could be because you’re draining your own mental brilliance into a bottomless pit. And that energy is worth a fortune. That is why companies spend millions of dollars figuring out how to keep you hooked.

Next time you go to pick up the phone, watch a violent entertainment film or listen to a song with dumb lyrics, just remember what you’re feeding your brain.

I may sound crazy sometimes, but if someone 200 years ago said that humans could be glued to a small electronic box instead of playing in nature, laughing together, cooking with passion or being creative, I dare say they would think that humans have lost their mind.

And they would be right.

I care about all of you so much.

Kisses always,

Sorelle

Bikini In The Snow Remake - The END of Photography Tutorials

I am EXTREMELY thrilled and at the same time saddened to be announcing the end of my photography tutorials online.

I have spoken before about wanting to let go of the 'Photography Online Teacher' version of me, but I guess I wanted to do one final video to end it all.

I am EXTREMELY thrilled and at the same time saddened to be announcing the end of my photography tutorials online.

I have spoken before about wanting to let go of the 'Photography Online Teacher' version of me, but I guess I wanted to do one final video to end it all.

One which would showcase to me and you my evolution as an artist. And so here is me, remaking my first photography series - the Bikini in the Snow series which went viral in 2016. It was picked up by Buzzfeed, Daily Mail, Digital Rev, a Mexican TV morning show apparently spoke about it. In total about 8 million people saw this series.

Not bad for a chica that had only been doing photography for less than a year. And so...now that I'm about 5 years into photography, I'm sure there has been some progress.

Absolutely my editing and posing has changed and evolved. I really love my dark and moody images these days that I do as part of my Advanced Selfie (http://www.AdvancedSelfie.co) work.

But...does it work as a Bikini In The Snow series? Let's see!

Thanks so much for being here as part of my photography YouTube journey. It's been a BLAST! Super ready for the next chapter, whatever that might be.

It's scary at times to let go of who you were, but in order to become who you want to be, you have to let go completely.

But alas...still quite nervous because of course the unknown can be a bit daunting.

Lots of love to you all :)

Thanks for being here on my journey.

Oh! Here are the articles which went viral:

Banging Online Presence For Creatives: How To Look Professional, Make Money and Command Attention

Hello photographers, individuals with a message eg PT’s, cooks, lawyers, hi mum. Anyone that needs an individual online presence, I’ve got you covered with the video on what to focus on when setting up an online presence for yourself so you look pro, get followers and get that money honey…

Build your Online Presence as an Artist.jpg

Hello photographers, individuals with a message eg PT’s, cooks, lawyers, hi mum. Anyone that needs an individual online presence, I’ve got you covered with the video on what to focus on when setting up an online presence for yourself so you look pro, get followers and get that money honey.

1.  Who are you?
It’s important for you to identify who you are. This might take you a while. Are you a photographer? Do you specialise in an area of photography? What makes you different. For a long time I also personally didn’t know who I was so I chopped and changed. That’s normal when you’re still developing yourself and learning about yourself. Seldom do people or personal brands know exactly who they are from the start. You should aim to get it as accurate as possible, but it’s ok to change it as you evolve.

Currently I’m sitting on ‘Beautifully Building Better Beings’. It helps to encompass everything I stand for - helping people feel good about themselves internally and externally because beautiful beings help to make the world beautiful. It’s not too specific - eg. Advanced Selfie Queen even though lots of people know me for that skill, as if I want to make videos about other topics, I’m free to do so which otherwise I could be restricted.

2. Social media - Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch (insert other platform here).
Choose your poison. You don’t need to be on everything. You should choose only the ones you can do REALLY well. I have Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter with content across everything but my main is Instagram and YouTube. If I have the danger of a platform sitting empty and looking poor, I’d rather not have an account on that platform as measly attempts make you look even less professional.

3. Have flawless images of yourself and your business
AdvancedSelfie.co - you need good images to sell yourself and your image. I’ve found the cheapest and best way to do this comfortable and quickly. You’re welcome.

4. Be consistent and provide value
If you don’t provide value somehow - whether it’s through humour, your personality, your message, etc etc - people won’t have a bar of it. If it’s always about you, you, you, then it gets old pretty quick. Fastest way to getting a great online presence is serving as many people as you can. So provide value though your work!

5. Gather online reviews
on Google, Facebook and transfer those to your website - This is for those offering a service. PT’s, photographers, Lawyers, Hairdressers. Anyone really. Ask your clients to do a google review and Facebook review. If you have a good relationship with them and they love you, this should be easy peasy. Once these reviews are done, get them up on your website. Which brings me to.

6.  Set up a website.
You need a website which is basically your online business card of who you are. I don’t know how people survive without websites these days. Even for a college graduate looking to get into Marketing. Having a website with everything on there about you, even if you are just trying to get a job and don’t have too many skills, this will set you apart MASSIVELY. On there you should have photos of you, a bio, your socials, reviews.

7. Patience
Your online presence will become more concrete and your online followers will grow as you grow, as you learn who you are, as you perfect your craft, as you produce more content, as you train more people or cut more peoples hair and you can show off what you’ve done for others.

Patience is key in this all. Don’t sweat it just concentrate on building up your skills all the time.

What is your favourite tip out of all this? What will you implement right away?

Also, as always, I’m all about that free self promo so please plug yourself down below. The perfect plug should be confident, but not cocky, should have what you do in a short sentence, your Instagram or website should be linked and what value people can expect from you.

Look forward to reading so I know who’s watching this!

Here is my Instagram and Twitter if you’d like to see more and until next time guys…peace!

Social Media Is A Monster - My 30 Day Detox

The reasons why I decided I needed to get off social media asap:

  • brain felt like mush

  • comparison of my work was brutal

  • waste of time…

The reasons why I decided I needed to get off social media asap:

  • brain felt like mush

  • less productive

  • comparison of my work was brutal

  • waste of time

  • not enough time to do what I wanted to do

  • always on the phone

  • late nights on the screen which was disrupting my sleep cycle

  • felt like I was plugged in and didn’t know who I was

  • not happy. let me rephrase - moody af

  • Looking at my phone made me physically sick

  • I couldn’t create. Creativity was at an all time low

  • I thought I was a disaster of a human because everyone around me always seemed to be doing better

  • I couldn’t tell if I was asleep or awake

  • my personality was gone

  • it felt like my brain was revving at a million miles a second without any downtime

  • my life felt empty

It shows that I’ve sure…been a minimalist in my life but a major consumer on this front which has been ruining me.

It’s important to have down time without doing anything as mentioned in the book ‘How to be Bored’ by Eva Hoffman:

It is easy, amidst the plethora of diversions and options offered by our societies, to lose track of why we do what we do, what we truly want, and what it is about our activities or our lives that we value and love.

I hope you learn to detach my lovers. Get your life back. You deserve it.

5 SELF PORTRAIT HACKS IN 300 SECONDS (Advanced Selfie Edition)

The Advanced Selfie is all about taking a normal photograph and turning it into art. The online world is vicious but this girl ain’t going to let social media intimidate you because I’ll teach you hacks to level up your Instagram feed.

The Advanced Selfie is all about taking a normal photograph and turning it into art. The online world is vicious but this girl ain’t going to let social media intimidate you because I’ll teach you hacks to level up your Instagram feed.

  1. Use what you’ve got - I’m not a fan of endless wardrobes because realistically who has the money for that, or the time to shop and it’s better to have a few items you love then crappy fast fashion clothing that looks like a bag of dic in 2 washes. So…here is just one of the solutions I use: Bedsheets. If you use this tip, make sure you tag #BedsheetArt so I can look at what you’ve created. hehe

  2. Perfect the pose, then make minor tweaks - it’s far too difficult to make your entire pose flawless from the start. Lock in the pose and then tweak the face. Take as many photos as you need until you’re happy with your facial expression. That would be a couple or 20.

  3. Aim to be uncomfortable - posing is never comfortable. Aim to make it look easy with a relaxed face, but secretly, you’ll be suffering.

  4. Use The Golden Rule of 5 - In every location that you shoot, the aim is to walk away with as many photos as you can because this gives you a backlog of content you can use and make the most of your time. Whenever I’m out shooting my Advanced Selfies I aim for the golden five - close up, mid shot, far away, sitting, lying down. Then you can also add different backgrounds and different outfits, different editing and one location can produce a million different looks for you.

  5. Use props - shadows, add elements to the foreground, clothing or items (bed drone) to help enhance your photo and take it from photo to art.

  6. Bonus - use beautiful locations - whether you’re renting out stunning AirBnBs for the day or integrating mother nature - a beautiful background is 50% of the photograph and it will make your job so much easier. Goodbye ugly background challenge. I’m totally not into you.

This video is brought to you by the Advanced Selfie University.

Let me share my secrets of taking beautiful, attention-grabbing self portraits with you in this comprehensive video course that will help you level up your photography, online presence and instagram feed whether you’re doing it to increase your self-esteem, your following or your sales. Create incredible solo content that looks like it was created by an entire professional team. Check out the link here to find out more.

What is your favourite hack?

Make sure you tag your work, like, subscribe and hit that bell. Share this video with anyone that hates their online presence and wants to not feel so crappy when they go onto social media.

Also, please keep sending this video to James Charles because they guy is learning Self-Portraits right now and he should only be taught by the Advanced Selfie Queen himself. hehe.

Until next time guys…peace!

Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World - and Why Things Are Better Than You Think

I’m a realist. I’ve been always very hopeful for the world, sometimes even to my surprise when a most common phrase around me is “I’ve lost hope in humanity”. I never agreed but didn’t know why.

Currently finishing the book Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World…

DSC00243.png

My name is Sorelle Amore and I’m a human crab 🦀

Also I’m a realist. I’ve been always very hopeful for the world, sometimes even to my surprise when a most common phrase around me is “I’ve lost hope in humanity”. I never agreed but didn’t know why.

Currently finishing the book Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World--and Why Things Are Better Than You Think, now I understand my attitude.

In the book, with supportive statistics, it shows that the world is progressing in so many ways - but we never get updated with improvements so it’s easy to have an old view of the state of the world.

  • most of the world has access to a forever improving medical system

  • the world is safer today than ever before

  • most of the world is out of extreme poverty

  • the world is having less babies than ever before due to access to education, plummeting child mortality rates and people escaping poverty

  • population growth will be levelling out at around 10-12 million people

  • people dying from natural disasters has halved over the last 100 years

  • life expectancy around the world is increasing

  • women around the world are spending almost the same amount of time in classrooms as men

  • lots of animals are coming back from extinction

  • so many more heartwarming facts

There is still SO much work to do, but all in all, you should be impressed with humans progress.

Climate destruction and overfishing are some areas in a critical state so that’s something we must all strongly work on.

All in all though, I hope you read the book if you have doubts and hopefully you all never use the phrase “I’ve lost hope in humanity” again.

How do you feel about the state of the world today? Were all these facts surprising? Are you in awe of humanity or disguised? Do you feel safe in the world or scared?

(Ps. Please read the book!)

The Advanced Selfie Isn't As It Seems: The Unexpected Life Changing Story of An Accidental Creation

ADVANCED SELFIE UNIVERSITY: https://bit.ly/2BJ4V4B

People laugh at me when I tell them I teach the Advanced Selfie to thousands.

Recently I met a person that gave me another eye roll when I told them I teach how to take Advanced Selfies. He didn’t understand. He thought it was pathetic. And when I explained the importance of the Advanced Selfie and how it helped me and how it helped him, he finally understood and acknowledged it was important.

I also started thinking in the recent months that maybe this isn’t the best thing to be teaching and maybe it’s a little lame and very shallow, but I just finished a trip to Palm Springs and took so many new Advanced Selfies (as you can see in this video) and I reconnected to my love of this art.

I realised truly my journey of what it took to get to the point of confidence in myself and the love of myself and the love of this self-portrait craft for me and for thousands of others that write to me daily how much it has helped them.

So as weird of a journey as it is for me to be doing this apparently shallow game (probably due to the name, but come on…it’s funny and it’s genius), I now understand it’s not shallow and it’s very necessary in the world we live in now days.

I hope this video helps to explain why I adore this self-portrait style so much.If you know of someone that could use some nice photos of themselves for their personal enjoyment or their business or a boost in confidence, please send them this video. I think it will be helpful!

Lots of love to you all,

Sorelle

Daily practices I follow for a fulfilling life.

  • Journal daily - catch out repetitive and damaging thought patterns and document your beautiful life. So many of us don’t know how to be present, at least these notes will remind you of how you lived.

  • Bullet Journal extraordinaire. Talk about one thing that’s upped my productivity and given me brain space for more creativity. I have a video about my bullet set up on my channel.

  • Cold showers daily. They suck. But they snap you into the present and they help you to become better at dealing with discomfort.

  • Healthy eating 90% of the time. Ain’t nobody got time to fill up on poisons that create mental and physical strain and unease. I got more important things I need to deal with than the negative results of indulging in junk.

  • Phone on airplane mode 90% of the time.

  • Very limited social media use. This is a new thing. Highly recommend.

  • Early to bed, early to rise. Around 11am sleep and 6am wake up.

  • Deep discussions with a close group of wise friends. Small talk = vomit.

  • Stopping to smell the flowers. Literally. Almost everyday I stop and take in the beauty of nature and appreciate the wind on my face or the sun in my eyes.

  • Learning to have downtime daily and not needing to be productive all the time. Everyone needs to recharge.

  • 20 mins of meditation in the morning.

Just some things that I do to help me feel tip top and make the most of my human days. Currently learning to incorporate stretching and movement daily into my weird travel life. And learning something daily to keep my sexy brain active 🤗

What are some things you do daily that help you feel and live better?

Lots of love,

Sorelle

Plastic-Free Bathroom Alternatives - How To Make Your Bathroom A Plastic-Free Sanctuary

Long, long time ago…actually roughly 60 years ago…in a land of confused humans, plastic became mainstream. Long, long time ago…actually roughly 60 years ago…in a land of confused humans, plastic became mainstream. This plastic thing was easily made out of a very accessible product - aka fossil fuel (aka liquefied fricking dinosaurs and plants that died millions of years ago)…which was drilled out of the depths of the earth to make it. Makes sense.

Clever humans.

Today plastic lives amongst us in peace and harmony.

Not.

It’s a huge problem, you all probs know that. Here is turtle with straw stuck in its nose as we all know, here is a diver amongst beautiful jellyfish, I mean plastic. Here is a beautiful bird chirping. I mean dead because it ate plastic. Here is a fish that you eat that is actually filled with microplasics…mmmmm…here is water that keeps you alive that is filled with micro plastics….mmm…and here is a human that is dying because he’s poisoned with plastic.

It’s actually stock footage of a person, but this is actually happening to all of us. All of us are getting poisoned. Yes, including your daughter, son, niece, little sister, bro, mum, dad, friends. Yaaay.

Ok now that the sarcastic tone is out of the way…hi, I’m Australian and sarcasm is our primary way of communication, let me share with you how you can make your bathroom 99% plastic free.

One room at a time, we shall save the world.

Shampoo in a bottle. Nope. LUSH has bars of shampoo or you can go to websites such as plasticfreeshop.com and get bars of shampoo. It’s genius. They work better than any other shampoo I’ve ever had and they have a lot of different versions that will suit your hair.

Same with conditioner.

Same with soap.

They all live in these steel containers that you reuse again and again.

Alternatively, you can use other natural products as shampoo and conditioner which I didn’t have much luck with but some people adore. Baking soda with water for shampoo and apple cider vinegar for conditioner. Try it if the above is too hard to get or too expensive.

Here is a toothbrush made out of bamboo with blah blah bristles. It will decompose fast, unlike a normal toothbrush that will take 500 years to decompose and probably end up in some animals anusz.

Here is toothpaste in a aluminium tin. You can also use these toothpaste tabs from LUSH that come in fully recyclable containers…however because recycling is just a business and it doesn’t really work, this isn’t the best way. But I haven’t yet found kick ass shampoo in a tin that works as well as these. So this shampoo is my weakness.

Also my tooth floss which is cotton but comes in a plastic container. They are still struggling to create tooth floss that is fully plastic free.

Here is my menstrual cup that is basically a gift from the gods. Yes, this lives in my hoochie during my period. I forget it’s in there. It collects all my blood, no leakage. It’s king. And it lasts for years. It saves the environment and saves you money.

Here is a metal razor with crazy sharp individual barber razors.

Here are cotton buds that I found in a store wrapped in paper. Alternatively I’ve heard the face halo is ridiculously good as a replacement. I’m yet to get my hands on one but Ima try.

Here is deodorant from LUSH. It’s amazing. Otherwise again, plastic free shop or google deodorant bars. They work pretty good. Perhaps not AS good as the deodorants which have aluminium in them and block your pores, but honestly, if something is in my body, blocking the natural purging cycle of the largest organ of my body - skin, then thank you…next.

Here is my lip balm in an aluminium tin.

Here are plastic free hair ties.

Here is the best damn skin exfoliator made from bamboo - Baiden Mitten. This is what my skin looked like before and this is what it looks like now. I’ve been using it for 8 years.

Here is a serum from LUSH, package free. It’s very hydrating.

Wooden hair brushes and combs are a thing.

Toilet brush cleaners made of wood are a thing.

Here is toilet paper from 'Who Gives a Crap’.

They also have paper towels.

So yes…I rushed through your options, but you can probably see that anything can be substituted that you already use for a natural version.

If it isn’t comment down below and I’ll try to help you find what you need.

Or if you know any other great Plastic Free Bathroom products, do let me know!

How To NOT Be A Starving Artist - 6 Tips To Kick Start Your Journey

There is no reason for anyone to be a starving artist in this day and age.

There is no reason for anyone to be a starving artist in this day and age.

We have endless access to resources on how to teach us to make our craft a full time gig. But I think the problem may also lie in people’s incorrect idea about art and business, sometimes believing that doing business will make you less creative or that if you’re business minded, you’re probably a fake creative.
Ain’t nothing fake about eating two minute noodles all of your life and allowing your art to go to the grave with you because you didn’t know how to sell it.

I’m personally very grateful that I didn’t discover I was creative until about 4 years ago when I first picked up a camera. Before that I was a business person, studied business and marketing, and was convinced I didn’t have a creative bone in my body. Well…I was wrong. But I’m glad I have skills in both departments because they go hand in hand.

For those worried that a business plan might take away from your creativity, think again. It’s been proven through research, and my own personal experience, that when you have that steady cashflow, you stress less and can concentrate on your craft more.

It also helps that you don’t feel like the world is against you and you build up resentment for your mum, nephew, neighbours cat and the checkout chick down the road. Resentment paralyses every creative.

But how much do you need to make to be comfortable and how to make that cash?

An easy way to calculate everything backwards is to work out how much it costs you to live comfortable.

Figure out your eating expenses, other bills, rent, car payments and a little extra leeway for life enjoyment per month. Then figure out how much that is daily.

Once you have a daily figure you need to aspire for, you’ll probably notice it’s not as high as you thought.

And then it’s a case of figuring out how many pieces of your art, music, gigs, services you need to sell in order to match that figure.

Making your goal an actual number instead of…ummmm….I just wanna make some money, will help you to streamline and focus.

Then it was research and action time.

In my personal journey of learning to make money as a business person and artist, I have:

  • sold physical products online

  • sold affiliate products

  • sold online coaching information

  • sold online coaching one on one sessions

  1. Set up an online brand - website

  2. If you don’t know what brand you are or you don’t have specific art to sell just yet, ask your friends what your strengths are and find out what brand you are. What problems do your friends come to you for?

  3. Set up your social media and work on it - properly

  4. Work with brands for free stuff to offset the cost of equipment

  5. Create a newsletter for your following with valuable information

  6. Concentrate on uniqueness and utilising PR

I’m giving up the digital nomad life and never going back

I didn’t realise how many different can of worms a single video could open. My burnt out video I mentioned my houseless lifestyle is not conducive to productivity and fulfilment.

Some people became very frustrated over this since I’ve previously spoken a lot about being a nomad and how I think everyone should strive for this.

Quick explanation of what a digital nomad is:

“Digital nomads are a type of people who use telecommunications technologies to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner. Such workers often work remotely from foreign countries, coffee shops, public libraries, co-working spaces, or recreational vehicles”. Aka - location independent

Quick backstory of my digital nomad life:

Moving home between every 1-3 days or 2/3 weeks MAX. The longest I stayed in one spot was three weeks. I’ve lived in around BLEH houses and hotels last year.

This is an EXTREME level of being a nomad and this isn’t the only way. And I’ve learned through trial and error over the last 18 months that this is not working for me anymore.

Does this mean I’m never going to be a digital nomad again?

No! I’m always going to be one, at least for the foreseeable future. I want to find stability in a home - get a house or  live in a house for 3 months at a time instead of moving all the time so I can set up better routines for myself and meet people.

Again…digital nomad means location independent. I don’t need to GO to work. My work is with me if I have a laptop. I can travel whenever I want.

So do I still recommend this lifestyle? Hell yes. YES. Absolutely YES!

I want people to be able to do their jobs from the beach or a cafe instead of a crappy cubicle. Some companies are catching on that productivity is greater when their employees work from wherever you want, but too many companies are still so damn old school that they restrict you to working in a little prison, with no windows and no plants and a scheduled time when you’re allowed to have a break.

I don’t think this is humane. I want everyone to live their best life, so yes…I vouch for the nomad life and the travel life. But not necessarily this extreme life I’ve lived.

Humans evolve and learn through experiences. This is one of those times where my opinion has evolved to what suits me better.

Now that the most intense travel period of my life is complete, here are some things that full time travel for 2 years taught me:

  • It’s boring eating out all the time

  • Treasure friendships majorly

  • Making money remotely is a pass for freedom and necessary even if you don’t plan on traveling

  • Minimalism stays with you as you’ve learned that high quality lasts longer and brings you happiness

  • Pushes you to seek adventure and not get comfortable

  • more open minded towards other peoples cultures and life

  • satisfies the ‘what if’ itch. Whether I ever choose to travel as much as I have previously, I now don’t have any regret for what if.

  • I have seen so much of the world and experienced what the world is like REALLY instead of what I’m told in the media

What I will be doing differently from now on as a more typical digital nomad?

  • I’ll choose to stay in a place between 1-3 months at a time and explore all the surroundings and truly experience the country. I used to travel to say I’ve been there instead of taking my time to see it all. Shallow travel vs travel with depth.

  • stay strict about my routines - my morning routine, food routine, work out routine

  • make extra time for friends, no matter where I am in the world - that includes catch ups, calling my friends more often for no reason other than to say hi, send them gifts

  • meet new people everywhere I am and try to make strong connections asap - I’m currently trying to best friend a group of my Krav Maga teachers and students. I sometimes probably come across as a psycho, but…whatever.

  • continue refining my business and growing it so I never, ever have to go back to working for someone else.

I know a lot of people will say ‘you’re lucky, you’re special, you’re privileged, you’re this or that’. I want to remind all those people that I didn’t grow up in a wealthy home. We weren’t well off. But what my family gave me was knowledge, a different way of thinking and encouragement to seek another way than what is the norm.

So here I am…presenting this other opportunity for life.

No matter what it takes, study marketing, business, online business and perfect your craft tirelessly until it works for you. It’s not easy. But it’s possible if you want it enough.

And again…if this seems like too much for you, don’t beat yourself up for it because this type of a life is not for everyone. You might think moving this much and being away from friends and family is a nightmare. That’s your truth and you need to stand by your truth.

Peace

Why You Look Better in The Mirror Than In Photos - 9 Reasons

Ever looked in the mirror, loved what you see, then someone snaps a picture of you and your whole world is shattered because it’s a disaster?

Yep…it’s happened to all of us. Here are 9 reasons as to why this is happening.

Why You Look Better in The Mirror Than In Photos - 9 Reasons ADVANCED SELFIE UNIVERSITY: https://bit.ly/2BJ4V4B MY PRESETS: https://sellfy.com/sorelleamore MY MUSIC (Great for YouTubers) - https://bit.ly/2IwOW8C OTHER MUSIC (Fresh New Sound) - http://share.mscbd.fm/SorelleAmore MY GEAR: https://kit.com/sorelleamore It's ok. It happens to all of us. So many of us wonder..."are we actually pretty?"

Ever looked in the mirror, loved what you see, then someone snaps a picture of you and your whole world is shattered because it’s a disaster?

Yep…it’s happened to all of us. Here are 9 reasons as to why this is happening.

Very quickly skimming over the obvious first 7 points:

  1. you don’t know how to pose

  2. you don’t know how to dress properly for your body shape

  3. you don’t know which colours are best for your skin tone

  4. you haven’t found your best face and body angles

  5. the lighting is incorrect

  6. wrong positioning of the camera - different lenses and positioning of the camera in proportion to you will make you look entirely different. that’s why often 50mm angles are the choice for portrait photography as this lens makes people look smashing

  7. what camera is used - and no - best quality isn’t always the best. Sometimes with crappy cameras the quality is a bit grainy and we like that as it hides imperfections and the high quality cameras can bring every detail to life

Then we get into the psychological effects why you might not like what you look like. And this is going to blow your mind:

  1. Mere exposure effect -  - people react to things better when they are exposed to it more often.
You’re not used to seeing the side of your head - i started getting adjusted to my side angles slowly but at first when i started being on youtube or seeing photos from the side, cringe. it took me a while to digest what my profile looks like and start falling in love with it.

  2. the mirror is a flipped reflection of reality - so you’re not used to seeing yourself that way

  3. in the mirror you give yourself immediate feedback and you adjust your face to suit how you like yourself. you can’t tweak photos like that - you look better when you’re moving

  4. filters are altering the way we see ourselves - a quick swipe on instagram on the regular will mean you literally start viewing yourself that way instead of the original. The more you use filters, then watch back your stories, the less you’ll be used to what the original snap looked like and it’s all downhill from there. So I’d say, for your own minds sake, keep the original snaps and don’t use filters even if it risks looking ‘better’ on the internet. It’s about self preservation after all in the long run.

  5. research shows most people actually think they are more attractive than they are. It’s a bit confusing this as we all know we can be our own worst enemy, however from personal experience, I can also vouch for this to be true. Having taken hundreds of advanced selfies now, I do think my photos are MUCH more beautiful than reality. I actually think that’s why you guys like me so much because i’m just some normal ass girl, but in photos I can look like queen which hopefully inspires you that anyone can get a good photo of themselves. And luckily I am actually aware that photos are better of me than real life, but I just giggle at this now.

Do you think there is a difference between what you look like in the mirror and pictures? Which one do you prefer?

To end it all, we’re all meant to be unique and different. A world full of cookie cutter pictures (aka most instagrams online) is boring and you can probably vouch for yourself instagram is just the same old shit and it’s getting pretty lame. To back yourself and fall in love with your unique beauty and work that with confidence, it stops people in their tracks. Here are just a few examples of Instagram accounts that stand out like sore thumbs in the world of fakes.

11 Things To Do When You Are Feeling Burnt Out

First of all I just want to say a massive thank you for the support on my recent video. It was pretty amazing of you guys to be so accepting of everything that's happening right now.

(If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about, here is the video if you want to check it out)

Hello my beautiful humans,

First of all I just want to say a massive thank you for the support on my recent video. It was pretty amazing of you guys to be so accepting of everything that's happening right now.

(If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about, here is the video if you want to check it out)

I also want to acknowledge the fact that so many people are going through this right now. Holy crap, I couldn’t believe the outpour over how you guys are feeling as well. I think this is just a reflection of the society we live in, where we are always expected to deliver more and more more, always better than the last. We never give ourselves time to stop or slow down, we’re always pushing forward.

We need to give ourselves the time and opportunity to reflect on what's happening, what has worked in the past and what hasn't worked in the past, so we can improve.

Here is a list of things that I'm personally doing right now, to help me throughout this period. I'm by no means saying that I'm an expert (clearly), I'm just learning to tackle the burnout my own way. I know that these things are going to help you, because they are really helping me.

Feeling Burnt Out

#1: ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE NOT 100% AT YOUR BEST

It took me four months to acknowledge that something is really wrong. Until I could acknowledge that something was wrong, I was always blaming it on other circumstances and just trying to push through it instead of figuring it out.

Now I'm taking the baby steps to fix this. In my instance - video editing - It drains me. I want to make videos, I want to talk to you guys, not edit!

Being houseless, moving every one to three days with my digital nomad lifestyle has also been a bit intense. On top of this, not having any hobbies, not being social, it's time to change all that.

Feeling burnt out 2

#2: HAVE A MINIMUM RECURRING INCOME ‘SECURITY BLANKET’

For people that are trying to make it in their industry, I would absolutely 100% recommend that you have an income coming in, even if it's a crappy job that you have to do just so you can maintain basic little income, because there is nothing worse when you're burnt out, trying to make it and you have no money coming in. You have to keep going, you have no choice and this does not help with burnout.

If you have a full time job and that is what's burning you out, maybe you can systemize what you do and outsource those really routine things that you do over and over again. I think most people get drained by the repetitive tasks and that leads me on to my next point…

feeling burnt out 3

#3: OUTSOURCE

There are going to be a lot of people are going to say “I can't do that, that’s not possible for me” but if your job is anything to do with a desk, we live in the most beautiful time right now where we can connect to people in different parts of the world, where they can do really great work for a fraction of the cost. In Asia, Philippines for example, you can find people for like $2 an hour to do very repetitive tasks that you can’t bare to do again. It frees up your brain power.

If you work for someone and they’re not willing to pay for that 2 dollars an hour, I would personally take that financial hit (if it's possible for you) because I know, freeing yourself up from minor, repetitive tasks is going to make you so much happier in the long run, because you can focus on bigger picture tasks, which not only makes you more productive, but it also makes you feel like you're fulfilling something and really contributing.

It could also potentially mean that you could cut down your hours as well because you would be speeding through work. You could go to the gym or the beach with that extra time!

Screen Shot 2019-01-10 at 14.23.29.png

#4: DO SOMETHING EVEN IF IT’S GOING TO SUCK

For me right now, I don't think that this is the best piece of work I've ever done in my entire life to be completely honest with you, but it is always better to do something that sucks, than do nothing at all.

feeling burnt out 5

#5: HAVE A ROUTINE AND STICK WITH IT

I love the quote “inspiration comes to me at 9 a.m. every morning”. It's because you are showing up and letting that inspiration come to you.

A lot of us wait in bed because we don’t want to do anything, just watching the time go by until midday or 2 p.m, and it throws off your routine. I really want to start at 9 a.m. and finish up at 5 p.m. and have a real job, because right now I am working at the stupidest hours (like today I'll be editing until 2:00 a.m. most likely and that is going to throw off everything!). I really am trying to put the routine together and stick with it.

feeling burnt out 6

#6: DON’T WEAR PANTS:

Pants are overrated. Just kidding! ;-)

feeling burnt out 7

#7: HAVE HOBBIES

Most people that talk about accomplishing greatness talk about this because you need to find inspiration from different sources. It is not from your work. Most likely it is when you're walking down the street, doing nothing related to your work, where you get a source of inspiration. You need to have hobbies, completely different to your work. Separate them because that is where inspiration very often comes through.

feeling burnt out 8

#8: BE SOCIAL

I am so excited to implement this into my life, I am so guilty of dismissing this and not thinking it's important, but we know that right now the world is going through a serious problem with disconnection. All of us are lacking human connection and it makes us feel bad.

Being able to vent to your friends and having them there to listen to you - sometimes that’s all you need, so get out there, call your friends that you haven't called for a long time and just say “hey, beer time/Coffee time?”.

feeling burnt out 9

#9: BE ACTIVE

I gotta say, this one's a tough one for myself right now too. All of us know that being active helps you feel better, so I just recently started ‘30 days of yoga’ with Adriene on YouTube, she's super cool. I have already noticed that I'm feeling better and I have so much more mental clarity after I do the exercises 30 minutes a day. We all have 30 minutes a day to be able to feel better mentally and physically. Do it, do it!

feeling burnt out 10

#10: EATING HEALTHY, MEDITATING & JOURNALING

They're all going to make you feel better! If you're not really into journaling I recommend it, even for the dudes, it just helps you vent and sometimes you just need a vent when your friends aren't around, or when you don't want to tell them specific things. Just jot things down on the paper, get it out of your brain, otherwise it just sits there on repeat.

feeling burnt out 11

#11: BE AUTHENTIC

This is a big lesson for me in a lot of ways, so I'm going to dedicate this point to myself!

A lot of the time, you guys know that I'm super hyperactive. I would say there are times where I forced myself to put that on because I almost feel like I have to put on this extra energy for you guys to love me instead of what I have to say. Yes I'm pretty full on, everyone knows me, they know that that's the case, but I'm not always like this.

I am probably going to turn that down in the days that I feel like it. Today I feel a lot more authentic when I'm speaking to you guys instead of putting it on, which feels good.

Secondly, I think one of the biggest reasons why I'm feeling burnout is because I don't know if the topics that I'm talking about are completely aligned with my heart. I love photography and I love travel - these are two things that are basically ‘me’, but I have so many more interests. I always say that you should stick to a niche, that you streamline yourself so people know exactly what they come to you for, but then I look at people like Tim Ferriss - this guy is a human guinea pig and you just respect him for being Tim Ferriss! I think I am going to go down the route of just being me and  talking about the amazing things that I'm figuring out in life, financially, mentally, physically etc.

Obviously transitioning can be a little bit uncomfortable because you don't know how people are going to react, but for my mental health this what has to happen. So that’s basically what’s going down in the near future, which I am kind of excited about! Lets just see what happens!

Thank you again for being so amazing, such a cool bunch of humans, I love you guys! Until next time guys, peace!

6 Valuable Life Lessons From a World Traveller For A Happier Life

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this topic because I feel like the wisdom that young people have is so significant and it is dismissed.

It's not like I'm dismissing wisdom from people that are older, I do agree they have a lot of wisdom, but I don't like that we're told always listen to older people because they always know best.

I think that's a recipe for a disaster because the innate self knowing and your intuition kind of gets overshadowed by this belief that older people always know better.

Listen to yourself as much as possible. Whenever there's information presented to you, I would just double check with your intuition, and this goes for every age. We always have to go back and check in with ourselves so that you don't get some stupid annoying lessons being shoved into your brain that aren't actually for you.

Here are some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Life Lessons from a World Traveller

LESSON TO MY YOUNGER SELF #1: ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

First and foremost I think it's important to be in an attitude of gratitude, so I want to say thank you very much for enduring the young years and the teenager years. You went through so many highs and so many lows and you did it quite well and I'm very proud of you.

I'm not gonna say that those experiences were good or bad because they were just lessons. I think both of those waves taught you an immense amount about yourself and to rid you of 50% of that experience would be devastating to who you are right now.

Understand that pain is part of the divine, because a life without emotions is not a life to be lived.

LESSON TO MY YOUNGER SELF #2: YOU ARE ENOUGH

This is a lesson for my younger self, right up to last week, because this has been haunting me for the longest time.

I'm constantly wanting to be somebody, because who I am apparently is not enough.

You are loved just as you are. You don't need to have things, be somebody, have a following, have a business - you don't need to do anything. Your value is already perfect as it is. The minute you're born, you are whole you're great, what you do from there is for enjoyment.

You are loved no matter what you have or haven't done my love.
LESSON TO MY YOUNGER SELF #3: COMPARISON IS SUICIDE
I know that you're gonna compare, it is part of human nature to do so, but at some stage you have to realize that it's not doing you any good.

Someone is gonna be doing better than you always and that's great because it gives you something to strive for. The only way you'll know that you're on the right path for you and not trying to compare and live someone else's life is if you become your own best friend.

Take yourself out on dates, talk to yourself, cuddle yourself, look after yourself, have special time with yourself. It's all about looking after yourself because that is the only way you're gonna know if your intuition is saying certain things to you that you are probably ignoring.

Don't compare, listen to what's here.

Life Lessons from a World Traveller

Now let me mix it up a little… here’s some of the lessons my younger self can teach me about the present.

LESSON FROM MY YOUNGER SELF #1: LISTEN TO YOUR INTUITION
I wish you would listen to your intuition more. You knew exactly what you wanted, except you stalled because you were listening to other people's opinions way too much - what the hell??

You allowed them to tell you that what you were doing was dumb and it was silly and there was no reason for it. You were worried that maybe you won't look cool or it will be a failure, but you knew exactly what you wanted to do.

Luckily after five years was stolen, you actually pursued YouTube and now it's awesome. I'm really glad you did, but imagine if you started earlier, what difference would it have been?

You listen to yourself miss! You know exactly what you want, so just go for it!

& how about the other dream that you've been stalling for 16 years? Maybe it's time to start now, because what's the other option? Constant regret like you have right now? Just saying!

LESSON FROM MY YOUNGER SELF #2: SWITCH OFF
I don't know about you Sorelle, but I remember very clearly the days when you used to go to the beach for an entire day and spend it without thinking about what was happening on the online world (because there was no online world!) and it was fabulous my darling!

Life doesn't happen inside your phone. I do understand it's a battle that the whole world is going through right now but please put it down and live a little because you need it.

LESSON FROM MY YOUNGER SELF #3: SWITCH OFF
Life is a thousand times better when there are other people involved. It’s such a pity that you let all of your old friends go. You said that you were too busy, that you didn't have time, that they wouldn't understand you anymore, and you were traveling the world, oh well.

Loneliness doesn't look good on you. People are gonna still love you Sorelle, if you're vulnerable. You’re scared of doing it but you're allowed to say that you're sad or upset and people are still gonna love you for who you are.

Don't be afraid and don't be too busy.

I kind of cried a little bit when I was running out these points, it really hit home for me so this is a really interesting exercise for me to do. I hope you enjoyed it. Until next time guys, PEACE.

Greetings from Tokyo, Japan!

Today we're talking about an amazing topic and I've got a very special guest, my clever boyfriend Leon.

You guys know I'm so into health, I want to be as healthy as possible, but I'm not the expert on this. I actually get most of my information about health from this guy.

He's constantly reading, listening to podcasts and researching about everything health-related, so I have asked him to go into more details about the complexities, the research and the scientific stuff behind it!

Introducing Leon!

How to beat jetlag
A few years ago I became obsessed with a quote by Aubrey de Grey, who’s one of the world’s leading experts on anti-aging. Speaking at a conference he said “the first human being to live to be a thousand years old, has already been born”, which is a crazy crazy thing to think about.

What he was speaking about is the fact that medical science and science on anti-aging is advancing so fast, that the technology that we now have is going to enable people alive today to live a ridiculously long lifetime, providing of course you’re living a lifestyle that’s conducive to that and you’re taking care of your body.

I’m obsessed with health and I call myself a ‘Biohacker’, which means I try and hack the environment around me so I can live the best life that I can. You know things like light, air, water, sleep, exercise - all stuff that we do on a day to day basis, but we may not take care of ourselves in all of the best ways that we can.

Although I’m not necessarily aiming to live to be a thousand years old, I am aiming to live as long as I possibly can and spend that time on earth in as healthy a position as possible. I don’t want to start degrading as I get older, I’d like to be feeling the way that I do now when I’m 70, 80, 90, 100 and beyond!
how to beat jet lag 2

TOP TIPS TO BIOHACK TRAVEL & JETLAG:

1. Fighting Oxidative Stress:
Flying takes a massive toll on your body. From the circadian rhythms (aka sleep patterns) being disrupted because of the time zone changes, increased cosmic radiation, EMF, which is electromagnetic field and your immune system also working overtime to fight all the bacteria and pathogens that are found on the plane - your body is not very happy when it is flying.

All this stuff causes what's known as ‘oxidative stress’, which is the main cause of your equilibrium and your general health breaking down. To combat this, I give my body an extra boost of antioxidants and other stuff to help me fight this off when I fly.

Right now I'm traveling with only one backpack here in Japan so I'm very limited with what I brought with me to fight off these stresses.

For antioxidant boost I've brought with me grape seed extract with resveratrol.

To fight general oxidative stress I have life Vantage's protandim.

Normally I only take these compounds once a day to fight general oxidative stress, but when I fly I tend to megadose them because of the additional oxidative stress on my body and take them every three to four hours.

2. Massive Hydration
Staying hydrated is important, but never as much as when we fly. Our bodies tend to like humidity somewhere around sort of the 50 to 60% range. Unfortunately for us, the cabin of an aircraft is usually kept somewhere around 10 to 20% humidity, which is much too low for our bodies to function normally.

This super low humidity dries up our eyes our nose our skin and basically everything in our body this is part of the reason you're at an increased risk of getting sick when you fly. This is because the mucous membranes in your nose tend to dry up a lot which means they're unable to do their job properly and catch bacteria and other pathogens when you breathe.

Because of this you need to stay even more hydrated when you fly. An easy rule of thumb for you guys to follow is to just drink a liter of water before you fly and then every hour drink half a liter of water. Yes you're gonna have a little toilet stop on the plane but it's better for you anyway.

If you can, make sure you bring a filtration bottle. It's gonna filter your water even more, making it extra pure.

How to beat jet lag 3

3. Beating Jet Lag
Jet lag is just a general term for you not feeling so great after a flight. It's caused by a couple of things that we've spoken about, increased stress and dehydration, but the most important factor in getting jet lag under control is getting your circadian rhythms back in check. You've just jumped too many time zones! To do that, it's all about adjusting your body clock to the new time zone as soon as possible or even before you fly.

The way that I do this is from the moment I board the plane, or sometimes before, I start to eat, sleep and work as if I'm already at my destinations timezone, which helps my body clock get in order faster. For example, if I bought a flight at 10 a.m, but at 7 p.m. already at my timezone, I know it's only about 3 to 4 hours before I'd normally go to sleep. Taking this in mind, I might not be tired, but I'll try and get myself to sleep at the same time that I would at my destination.

I’ll pop a melatonin tablet, maybe put some binaural beats or meditate, things that I normally do to get my body winding down and getting to sleep.

Another little thing that helps is just to reset your watch when you board the plane to your destinations time zone, which will help to get that new time zone in your head and start doing things on the plane like eating and sleeping at that time zone.

You guys know we talk about this a lot - the blue light on our devices and airplane screens tells our brains that it is daytime and it's not gonna allow for the release of the sleep hormone of melatonin, which means you are definitely not doing yourself any favors in helping to get your body back in check.

4. Keep Moving:
They say sitting is the new smoking. It is really bad for you to sit for long periods of time, but it's even worse when you're sitting on a plane. The lack of air pressure can cause blood to pull at your feet, causing discomfort in your legs and even the dangerous deep vein thrombosis.

But most of all sitting on an airplane for hours just makes you feel bad. Lucky for you there's a super simple way to combat this and that's just by getting up off your ass and taking a walk around the plane.

5. Know What’s Going To Make You Sick:
You are at a higher risk of getting sick simply because you are stuck in a metal tube with a couple of hundred people.

But most people are actually incorrect about what's going to make them sick when they fly. There's a common misconception that the air on a plane is filled with germs but that's just not true. The air coming out of the vent above you is filtered by some of the most hardcore bacteria filters on the planet, meaning that what you're breathing coming out of the vent is cleaner than the air you breathe in most big cities on the planet - like Tokyo!

What you probably don't know though is that your tray table and seat pocket in front of you are the most likely things to be filled with bacteria, meaning that when you shove your phone around the stuff in there, they're probably getting coated with some nasty stuff.

If there's something you want to disinfect when you get on the plane, disinfect those areas because they're the most likely to make you sick.

6. Ground Yourself On Arrival:
One thing that humanity has become ridiculously bad at over the last century is disconnecting ourselves from Mother Earth, in fact because we all live in a concrete jungle and wear shoes all the time, many of us are completely disconnected from physical contact and the earth for long periods of time (and we're the only species that does this).

This is where ‘grounding’ or ‘earthing’ comes into the picture which will help you to adjust to the new time zones more easily. The theory is that long flights disrupt our body's natural electrical charge and cellular function, which can be rectified by getting into direct contact with the planet.

This is probably the easiest bio hack on this list to do, because of its simplicity. All you've got to do is find a park, take your shoes off, get down on the grass and connect yourself with the earth for about 20 to 30 minutes - not exactly rocket science right?

I will admit, there isn't a lot of scientific evidence to back up the positive effects of grounding - yet, but I can tell you that from personal experience it works for me and a lot of other bio hackers back up the positive effects of grounding yourself after a flight as well.

Even if there are no positive benefits of beating jet lag by grounding yourself after a flight, science does know that being in and around nature does have a bunch of other positive effects like we're reducing cortisol, increasing moods and lowering your brainwaves down to a state similar to what you achieve when you're in meditation.

How to beat jet lag 4

As you can see Leon knows his stuff and this is by no means an exhaustive list, this is just the beginning. The course that he's created on biohacking is incredible! He has spent so long on it. There is so much information.

Over the last few years I've done some pretty amazing stuff when it comes to biohacking, like tripling my testosterone levels, increasing my brain and memory function, increasing my mood and generally feeling better and having a whole bunch more energy every single day.

To share this knowledge with the world, I've put together a pretty intensive but easy-to-understand course with over 60 bio hacks that you can purchase right now - in fact we're just launching it now with this blog post!

It's called ‘The Alchemists Guide to Bio Hacking’. As I mentioned at the start this whole world of biohacking that we're getting into is getting pretty insane. The things that human beings and science can do with the human body now are incredible and regardless of whether or not you want to live to be a thousand years, if that's even possible, this is just the thing that I've created for people who want to live a better life and feel better every single damn day.

You guys know I'm massive into health so I really really hope you guys jump onboard because I want you guys to feel as good as possible, for as long as possible thank you so much Leon for jumping onboard and sharing all these tips!

Until next time guys, PEACE!

31 Ways to Make Money as a Photographer

I'm currently surrounded by chickens in Australia and I'm so freakin excited today to be talking to you guys about this topic!
It's kind of like a pep talk mixed in with a video and it is 31 ways of making money through photography (the amount of times I hear people asking how to make money through photography, it almost blows my mind!)

If you have pretty good skills, there are endless amounts of ways of making money through photography.

Hello humans!

If one of these ideas doesn't trigger your mind to think of business opportunities, hopefully the next one will. So let’s get started!

How to make money as a photographer

1. Wedding photography
2. Boudoir Photography
3. Maternity Photography
4. Infant Photography
5. Baby Photography
6. Kids Photography
7. Family Portraits

- Do you like the order that I put all that in? ;-) Do you see what I did there?

8. Animal Photography
How many people do you know that are obsessed with their pets? Imagine how lucrative that business is if you take just photos of the pets or photos of the pets and the owners together in funny ways for example. Oh that would be a hit!

9. Instagram photography
I just want to bust a little myth here because on my account right now I have 360K people following me. I have made very little money with my Instagram. It is my platform that makes the absolute least and I think a lot of people out there are gonna be shocked by that.

Of course you can monetize it, but the reason I don't is because I don't want to be selling to you guys environmentally destructive brands that are just fast fashion. A lot of the brands that have the money to pay for Instagrammers is fast fashion, and I'm not ok sponsoring that.

But I even know people that have millions of followers and aren't necessarily environmentally-conscious, that still don’t make a lot of money from Instagram.

10. Concert Photography
11. Festival Photography
12. Nightlife Photography

I used to work in a place when I was a bartender at 21, where there was literally specific photographers at nighttime that came in on the party nights and they would photograph everyone, to upload to social media, so people could tag themselves.

Baby Sorelle!

Baby Sorelle!

13. Special Niche Photography
For example sports photography or underwater photography, which can be sold to diving companies or scientists also need underwater photography. My friend specifically does pole dancers photography and my other friend does vintage retro photography, very specific niches.

This is the space where it can just go on forever - it can be anything you want it to be! It could be chickens with candles! You could have chicken candle photography! You don't know what people love, if you find a twist it can work.

If you like surfing, maybe it's photography of custom surfboards. It can be so specific and the more specific you get the more specialized you become,  the more you can charge because you know exactly how to take the absolute best photos in that niche.

14. Business Photography
This can include photographing stores, the offices or the staff members at the business. This includes restaurants, clothing stores, cinemas, yoga retreats, yoga centers, gyms - everyone needs photographs.

15. Real Estate Photography
There is always a house going on sale somewhere.

16. Business Events
17. Selfies

You can make them advance selfies and have an Advance Selfie University! That's mine :-P

18. Social Media Photography
This is another endless niche that you can just go after and make it your own. As a business owner, in the past having worked in a marketing position many times, I know that businesses need endless supply of social media images in order to upkeep their social media and marketing. You can't have the same image go out on repeat.

You can even get a bunch of businesses on a monthly retainer and you just take 20 to 30 photographs for them so they they have one a day that they can post in social media. 30 photographs of their stores, of their staff, of their products, it is endless.

19. Headshots
This is for models, actors, business people, which can also be marketed as LinkedIn photography.

20. Editing and retouching for other photographers
I used to edit photographs before I even had YouTube and I was editing from Iceland for Australia - complete opposite ends of the world, and I was getting paid for it.

how to make money as a photographer

21. Stock Photography
But from the research I've done it seems that there's not a huge amount of money in this. I might be wrong!

22. Photography Assistants
This is what I was when I first started photography, and even though I had little knowledge of photography, I was already getting paid. Research your favorite photographers in the area and be like “hey, I'm real keen, love to help you out!” and most likely if you set up a good relationship and you guys get on, it's gonna be a great team and that's what it kind of comes down to.

As a side note, when I started photography, I offered my work for free, I did not want to take money because I was afraid that I was gonna actually suck so bad. I did do a little stint working for free but then it upgraded into money making pretty soon after that because I showed my work.

23. Event Photography
Think exhibitions and expos.

24. Teaching photography online
One way is YouTube, otherwise it's just selling straight through your website, selling ebooks, having your course on an online teaching platform such as Skillshare.

25. Local Paper
The newspapers always need to visually represent what is happening in the area, so journalists are always necessary

26. Photo Tours and Workshops
There are two ways that you can be doing this - one is through having a social media following like myself. I have run tours before successfully, they've all sold out. That's just one way to market them.

The second way - my friend has basically zero online presence, he doesn't actually do social media, he doesn't get it, he's very much a typical photographer, technically very skilled and he promotes his workshops just through online marketing and he always sells out his workshops and he runs a lot of them all over the world.

You're responsible for these people once they arrive so don't screw them over, do the right thing, organize the greatest, most kick-ass photo tour or workshop that they will ever have, that there will be, that they will be bragging to their friends about. You can charge a great price for that and travel the world while doing this as well.

how to make money as a photographer

27. Selling prints online
This should only be done when you're really good.

28. Fashion Photography
This is for designers to sell their clothes online and for magazines for example.

29. Product Photography
Again this is an endless source of photography income because the world we live in right now means that companies need lots of photographs of their huge stock that they turn over.

Basically anything that needs to be sold online needs a photograph for it, just know that this is a very very fast-paced environment, you need to get the photos done as soon as possible so they can put them up online as soon as possible and start selling them ASAP.

30. Advertising Photography
These are the images that you'll see on Billboard's for example or on brochures. When I worked at an advertising company, one photographer for example kept on reselling the exact same image to this car company that he took a photograph of. ONE photograph that he was making about 20,000 or 30,000 dollars a year I'm pretty sure, just for them to use that photograph on all their advertising material! That is an endless amount of income for you. You have to be ridiculously good, but that is absolutely an option as well.

31. Paparazzi
Ew, but if that's something you're into, that is another source of income.

I hope you enjoyed this list, if you did please leave a comment and let me know which was your favorite way and which one feels like it's the right thing for you to do. Don't sit on these ideas, they're not gonna happen themselves, you have to take action now.

Until next time humans, peace from me and the chickens!

Travel More, For Less Money: 7 Travel Hacks To Find Cheap Flights

Well hello there human!

Today we're talking about how to book cheap travel because as a full time traveler, I like to get a really good deal on my flights (I think all of us do!)

Today I'm gonna reveal all my secrets of how I get the best travel at the best price - strap in my kiddos, we’ve got 7 points to go through!

BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR DATES

Firstly, wherever possible, you really need to be flexible with your travel and that includes flexible dates and flexible destination if you can. Flexibility is key to ensuring that you can get the absolute best deals.

The worst time to arrive in a new destination is before New Year's Eve, before Christmas and before 4th of July etc. August is another huge month for travel in Europe, so that is going to be the most expensive.

1. FLY OFF-SEASON
Off-season actually also includes flying ON the days of the major holidays, so for example, during Year's Eve! If you are happy to be up in the air over midnight on New Year's Eve this is a huge one, no one wants to be up in the air, they want to be celebrating so the deals at that time are really cheap!

2. FLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK
This is always cheaper than flying at weekend!

3. FLY VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING OR VERY LATE AT NIGHT
Nobody wants to fly at crazy-o’clock… except for us cheapos!

whenever I booked my flights I have a rough idea of when I want to be traveling and then I always look the day before, the day after, then a couple of days before, a couple of days after, because one day could actually save you so much money.

how to find cheapa flights

BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR DESTINATION

If you can,  just kind of maybe go with the flow a little bit and choose flights according to the destination. You might be able to fly in to say, Malaysia cheaper than it is to go to Myanmar and then maybe flights from there are cheaper to get to Myanmar. Being flexible with your destination is key.

It's so cool because most airline search engines have this amazing feature where you can choose to travel from where you are to anywhere in the world. Momondo has this, Kiwi.com has this, Skyscanner has this, it's a really really cool feature.

DON’T ALWAYS FLY DIRECT

This is one of my biggest, biggest, biggest things that I recommend. I often fly from one giant ‘hub’ to another giant ‘hub’, and then I take small flights from there. For example, recently I flew from Toronto to Bali and it was a very different price flying direct so what we did is we booked flights to Singapore and then from Singapore we took a budget airline to Bali. It was a lot cheaper! You just have to find the nearest large hubs that you want to fly into.

In America it's either LA or the New York City area. In Europe it is Amsterdam or the UK. In Asia it is Singapore. However make sure that you book at least 3 hours in between your flights because if there are any delays with your previous flight the other airline's not going to wait for you. If the delays are really major on the front end you will not get any money back on this unless you have really good travel insurance, so that is also something to consider.

how to find cheap flights

CHECK MULTIPLE SEARCH ENGINES

For example, sometimes the exact same flight on kayak is cheaper on Momondo. I actually always go to Momondo first, that is my preferred place because they just always seem to have the best flights at the cheapest rate. But you never know, sometimes it's the opposite and kayak is cheaper. You just have to search a few different ones.

USE POINTS AND MILES

I've heard that this is a really good system, that you actually get a lot of flights for free, especially with the amount of travel that I do - but guess what... I have never had miles. I've just never set it up. But I've heard it's good so, do it.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR SPECIAL DEALS
In order to do that you have to be subscribed to email lists (which kind of suck) but if that means cheap travel then so be it.

There's also other places you can go to find special deals on flights, that includes airfare watchdog, the flight deal, holiday pirate, scott’s cheap flights and secret flying.

how to find cheap flights

WHAT TIME YOU BOOK YOUR FLIGHT

You don't want to book too far in advance because the prices are kind of outrageous at that point and nothing too close because then the airline increase the price of the flight. The best time to book is around six to eight weeks before you fly, or if it's a really big major holiday coming up, about three months out.

Do not spend way too much time booking these flights, it should only take about an hour, anything more and you’re actually gonna go crazy. You might be able to save $20 extra if you spend another five hours, but it's it's not worth your time so just book the flights within about an hour and you're good to go. Enjoy that holiday!

Tell me, where are you guys going soon? I would like to know where your next holiday is, or your dream destination!

Until next time guys, PEACE!

TRAVEL FAILS: 10 Worst Travel MISTAKES That’ll Screw Any Vacation

I'm gonna save you guys the pain in the butt of having to deal with these horrible situations where you mess up, massively, so you can have the best holiday ever! No beating around the bush, let's get straight into it!

1. OVERPACKING
I always recommend just taking carry-on baggage. That's it, no check-in.

You do not need a lot of stuff when you're on the road, it is far more enjoyable having a few things then having to worry about dragging your bags through cobblestone streets in Europe for example.

Overpacking is one of the biggest mistakes most people make, so whatever you have, half that and then half it again, and that's roughly how much you should be taking when you're traveling.

I'm gonna save you guys the pain in the butt of having to deal with these horrible situations where you mess up, massively, so you can have the best holiday ever! No beating around the bush, let's get straight into it!

2. DON’T OVERPLAN
The adventures that you can have when you don't plan too much, it's the best!

Whenever I travel, I generally plan the first night of accommodation and then I let the rest of the time happen spontaneously. You don't know who you're gonna meet, you might want to change direction and go on an adventure with those people.

If you have everything set in concrete it's really going to take the spontaneous nature out of travel and that is one of the greatest things, so don't over plan.

travel fails

3. TO CONTRADICT MYSELF… PLAN!
Whenever you're traveling, make sure that you plan the top places to go.

I shit you not, I have gone to certain destinations and have missed the most important things to see all because I didn’t plan.

4. RESEARCH THE HISTORY
I know some people might be scared about this but if you go to a location and you're looking at a building (nice pile of bricks isn't it?), but if you know the history behind it, how long it's been there, what important events have occurred inside that building, all of a sudden everything starts making sense and it's very, very interesting.

Even if you don't love history, research a little bit, you will absolutely get more out of your travels if you do.

5. GET TRAVEL/HEALTH INSURANCE
It doesn't sound glamorous and when I started traveling I didn't really have the desire or I didn't think there was a need for it. However, as I kept traveling I started to realize that things go wrong. I have actually had my stuff stolen, I've lost some stuff, I've broken stuff on the road like my lens for example - that’s $1500 gone - unless you have travel insurance.

Or overnight delayed flights, lost baggage, all of this stuff. It seems like such a petty expense that isn't worth it, but it's worth it honey.

6. SHOP SMART
This is for all my shoppers out there. I would like to remind you that if you have H&M in your own country, you shouldn't go to H&M in a different country. The exact same things are in that store, so if you're gonna go shopping, just buy stuff that is so freakin unique and maybe representative of that country like a kimono from Japan.

travel fails

7. LUXURY ISN’T THE ONLY WAY
You probably see it all over Instagram, everyone saying in these luxurious places. I kind of want to debunk this because I recently discovered something about myself that I don't know if I'm such a humongous fan of traveling in luxury anymore.

I actually somewhat miss the days of hostel life, when you've met so many amazing people and you had the weirdest, funnest nights with the locals or random people staying in the hostel. It's just so much fun and you spend much less and you experience things a lot more real and raw instead of the polished luxurious feel.

Book a little bit of luxury, but make sure you it in with the mix the raw and local experiences. You're gonna thank yourself because travel is all about adventure and not sipping cocktails next to a pool, which you can do right in your own country - maybe, unless you're in Alaska.

8. DON’T  FORGET THESE THINGS
I'm not gonna go into much detail with these things, because you guys are smart cookies and you can work out for yourself as why all of these points are important!

- Check in early because you want the absolute best seats.
- Pack earplugs, eye mask, a little dry squiddy towel and a lock for your hostel.

9. TRY THE LOCAL CUISINE
This is an embarrassing story of mine... I have been to Japan about 14, 16 years ago. I haven't had sushi in Japan. I literally said to myself “I've had sushi before, I'm not gonna bother”. Oh my good - try the local cuisine!!! Do not stick to the usual, I guess you guys know that. I didn't know that, so i’m telling you guys, just FYI in case you're silly like me.

10. DON’T BOOK LAST MINUTE
You should be aiming for the sweet spot for about six weeks outside of the travel time, or over three months if it's a really busy season.

I remember hearing those beautiful stories of people saying go to the airport last minute and just booked a ticket and see where you go. That shit doesn't exist anymore, it's so freakin expensive!

travel fails

Humans, enjoy your trip! I'm so excited for you to go and explore the world. It is so much fun, my favorite thing in the world is traveling. Make sure wherever you go, do adventurous things, meet the locals, do modern things, ancient things, historic things and this is going to give you a fulfilling trip.

Traveling for Instagram photos is so empty and I can tell you that from experience so drop that have fun travel properly, experience life properly, not through the social media screen.

Until next time guys, PEACE!

I TRIED LIVING LIKE CASEY NEISTAT FOR 7 DAYS

This time last week, I came across Casey Neistat's daily routine video and I knew that this was a sign! I had been thinking about Casey’s insane routine for months so when this popped up on Youtube, I knew it was time to undertake the challenge of living like Casey Neistat for 7 days - starting now. No more excuses!

I really didn't know if this was a challenge that I could complete or if it was going be super easy, if I was gonna be overwhelmed, procrastinating or producing more. But I knew I wanted to know what it was like to live like this machine and imagine the insights I could get from living this way.

He's a hyper successful guy, I wanted to know what makes him so great and was it the routine that was helping him?

He's a hyper successful guy, I wanted to know what makes him so great and was it the routine that was helping him?

Are you up for the challenge of #LivingLikeCasey? So many of you guys have already jumped on board and are getting amazing insights from what I'm hearing so far!

Personally I was experiencing a giant slump when it came to my work. I wasn’t inspired, my work was actually getting worse, I wasn’t loving creating videos, I wasn't working out, I was in a slump and I wanted to get out of it. This challenge couldn’t have come at a better time.

44797701_1122707161236272_7909656736326221824_o.png

The biggest hurdles of Living Like Casey

1. The idea that scared the crap out of me before even starting the challenge was waking up between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. every single day, to be working for two hours.

2. Exercising twice a day. I wasn't even exercising once a month.

3. Producing daily videos a day, which is something I had never done before.

43029689_1109279832579005_1688036629681274880_n.jpg

Day 1:

5am - This day was dedicated to studying the Casey Neistat lifestyle and seeing if it was actually possible for me to do!

7am - Gym time! I definitely didn’t feel like being there. Run 10 miles? No way. 10 kilometers maybe…

10am - Time to start the work day! I didn't want to undertake the task if I couldn't complete day one, but I did! It was hard, but I did it and I was super proud of myself!

Screen Shot 2018-11-02 at 12.52.50.png

Day 2:

The morning was epic productive! What they say is actually super true - between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. no one is awake and you can work so well because there's nothing else to do. You can't be loud, you have to sit on your computer and work.

5am - I kept waking up at 4:55, my favorite time of the day to wake up now apparently. I really love waking up at this time I get so much done, everyone is asleep, it's a new level of productivity that I didn't expect.

Get out of bed, do not sit in bed. You have to get up, move around, get on to your computer and start working productively. Have a set list of things to do so you don't fall into social media and scrolling.

7:30am - my video is ready to go out! I'm about to go to the gym again, a little bit behind schedule but feeling pretty okay. I just have to not panic, if I panic everything will fall apart. Do not panic Sorelle!

My boyfriend has been feeding me all these supplements to help me workout because let's face it, I need all the help that I can get!

During the morning run there was a bit of a problem. At 2.2 kilometers I started experiencing pain in my left knee. I would suspect that it's probably because I'm not a runner anymore, I used to be when I was young, about 10 years ago, but I haven't really run since. For me to just jump in and start running 10 kilometers a day, it was dumb. I don't know if I recommend this by anyone - it was really dumb.

I decided to push a little bit more and thankfully they stopped hurting. I did it! I can't believe I've ran 20 kilometers in two days!

Day 3:
I am smashing it at the gym, I have no pain, I feel like I've bounced back! I even increase the speed on my treadmill.

Workwise, I am amazed by my productivity. I did not think that I could keep producing videos after videos. Proud as punch! I just finished the next video and it is only 12:30! I didn't think I was capable of producing so much.

I legitimately thought that I was struggling creating 2 videos a week and now I that I am forced to do 7, I feel so re-inspired! I'm capable of creating so much, which I never thought I was going to be able to do! 7 videos in 7 days!

I was always coming up with some sort of excuse to not create.
1. Maybe people won't like it.
2. Maybe it's not the right topic.
3. This is kind of boring, no one wants to watch it.
All these excuses kept on coming into my brain. But when you're so busy and you have a tight schedule, you don't have time to overthink. You just create.

6 - 10pm - Family time was one of the biggest shocks to me, which sounds pretty sad unfortunately. There's something so magical about detaching and being able to enjoy myself and completely forget about work. I actually really enjoy the structure and how it creates more freedom in my brain and in my experiences.

My family and I had a blast! We went out to restaurants, spent some time with the ladies, went to Gong meditation, scooter rides, ice cream dates, salsa dancing. Less work, more fun!

How did I feel about the night time gym session though?
This is one part of the entire process that I despise. Casey, go to sleep, wake up and in a few hours you can go running! You don't need to go to the gym as well.

I'm ready for bed and now I have to get up.

44315838_1118566501650338_7779063153270194176_o.png

Day 4:
Today is where the physical exercise started getting to me.I managed to get through 5 kilometers but my body does not want to do it.

My mental capacity is so willing, but my body's definitely not. Every single time I attempt to run again, I feel like I'm gonna puke, I don't know if I can keep going.

I was very concerned at this stage that maybe this was going to be the end of my running challenge which is such a huge component of the Casey Neistat lifestyle. If I cut out the run, I feel like I would have failed the entire challenge. Fingers crossed I can get straight back into the flow of things tomorrow.

The nighttime exercise also didn't happen this day. Instead I decided to have a bath, have some tea, a coconut and relax today.

Day 5:
I feel so much more rested today than I was yesterday, so fingers crossed I'll be smashing it at the gym!

Another struggle came into the picture today. Because I have been so busy producing content, running and exercising - all of the stuff that is unusual to me, I haven't done any of my mindful exercises like journaling or meditating, which is starting to catch up on me.

A quick meditation/nap did the job!

I’m catching myself going a little bit out of schedule because of tiredness. My schedule is all over the place and I found myself editing into family and sleep time.

10pm Workout - Yesterday I was really struggling with this whole workout scenario... Well I don't know what happened but today I'm smashing it! I smashed the run, I wasn't tired, I didn't even stop for a break. Right now I'm loving the fact that I'm at the gym! Who is this person?!

I just didn't know what to do before, I didn't understand all these machines, it’s so complicated, but once you get a grasp of it and you see your muscles getting defined and stuff, you start to feel really good!

Food-wise... I'm hungry all the time!
My appetite has gone insane. I could not stop eating.

In a single session of running I was burning around 700 calories - apparently that's a lot! All my usual healthy eating habits went out of the window, which my insides weren’t entirely happy about...

Untitled design (91).png

Day 7:
I freaking did it! Tomorrow I'm sleeping in.

I got so much fitter from just one week of living like Casey! By the end of the week I was running non-stop, without breaks, doing the 10 miles! The fast progress of my body's strength really shocked me! I’m about to do my very last workout of the 7 days and I can say I am VERY excited for this to end.

I've learnt a lot about discipline and I have proved to myself how much I can do! I think the surprising byproduct of all of this exercise as well is being flexible with my eating schedule. I usually eat super healthy, but being able to justify eating whatever I want has been has been nice.

INSIGHTS

1. I appreciate the productivity so much.

2. I love the fact that you have no time to waste on social media. You have a specific schedule and so many things to do, you cannot scroll for hours on end.

3. This challenge also helped me realize how many distractions there are in the world. Not just from TV and social media, but everything in general is trying to stop you from creating a really kick-ass life.

4. I now understand that successful people have to have a schedule to not distract themselves. It's like their blinders to make sure they stay on track.

5. You're going to experience resistance from people in your life. They're going to think you're a bit crazy, why do you want to work so much, you're not living life at all - blah blah blah.

Sometimes it's from people that feel guilty for not living their life to the fullest. What I recommend is whenever you're with that person, be ultra present with them and make them feel like a million bucks. Explain to them how important it is for you to stay super focused on your work because you really have some great ideas and you want to execute them.

Don’t give into their complaints because this is your life, not theirs.

6. Having very scheduled blocks of time for things to do was amazing. It makes you super hyper present on what you're doing at that time.

Before, when I didn't have a schedule, my life was just morphing into one another. If I was with the family I was thinking about work, but having blocks of specific time I could detach from everything else and just concentrate on the task at hand.

7. I loved dedicating time to family. 100% keeping this!

Let me know what you thought of this challenge and if there's any aspects of this you would like to take into your own life.
